Emma Wilson
Award-winning blues and soul vocalist
Emma Wilson at The Tyne Bar - October 13
Teesside's own Emma Wilson has a fabulous voice that effortlessly moves between heart-wrenching soul and raw blues. With roots in a musical family—her mother promoted jazz bands and her father was a charismatic storyteller—Emma was destined to perform.
Emma gained international recognition with her debut album, Wish Her Well, released in 2022, winning “Emerging Blues Artist of the Year” at the UK Blues Awards. The title track, described as her 'little hero' song, has reached hundreds of thousands of streams worldwide. For her follow-up album, Memphis Calling, she collaborated with Nashville Hall of Fame inductee Gary Burr and British songwriting icon Terry Reid, creating soulful tracks that showcase her songwriting talent.
She also arranges music and wrote the horn arrangements for “A Small Word” on Memphis Calling. Her dynamic performances and deep connection with fans have helped her grow a dedicated following, earning her numerous radio interviews and excellent press. Emma is also a beloved guest singer, having performed at events like “An Evening for Jack,” featuring notable artists.
